An unlikely grilling guru, Adam Perry Lang has rewritten the rules of grilling, dry-aging, cooking, and consuming meat over the past two decades. With APL Restaurant, he seeks to reinterpret the contemporary steakhouse, inspired by and in celebration of steakhouse classics from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, within a distinctive yet approachable dining destination in the heart of Hollywood. Inspired by the drive and hustle of the Hollywood community and legacy, Adam Perry Lang now instills a refreshingly authentic spin on the modern steakhouse. The menu at APL Restaurant celebrates steaks and chops, seafood (sourced sustainably from Dock to Dish LA) and sides, fueled to perfection by the team’s unorthodox and high-impact style, pairing all against an impressive design backdrop projecting a French sensibility. The space is replete with a world-class wine and cocktail program, a take-out counter for daytime lunch offerings, and a subterranean dry-aging room in the underbelly of the restaurant. Not to overlook the additional mastery of Adam Perry Lang’s custom-forged knives at APL Restaurant, where metal and heat come together to create the perfect cutting instrument, both in form and function. Knife-making has been a big part of the journey toward the opening his first L.A. restaurant. The 143-seat restaurant is situated in Hollywood’s historic Taft Building.
